Professor of Management at Université Paris Dauphine PSL.

Speaker Bio:

Simon Porcher is a full professor of Management at Université Paris Dauphine PSL. He studies how cross-sector partnerships create value and respond to grand challenges, particularly in water supply. Before joining Université Paris Dauphine PSL, he was full professor at Université Paris Panthéon-Assas, and formerly associate professor & scientific director of the public-private partnerships chair at IAE Paris. He was also a fellow at the London School of Economics, and a Robert Schuman Fellow at the European University Institute. He has received several awards for my research, including a European Commission Horizon 2020 grant and the Best Dissertation Award from the Academy of Management. His book “La fin de l’eau?” received the best book award from the Academie des sciences morales et politiques (the French National Academy for social sciences and politics) and from the Cercle Turgot, a French think tank, chaired by former European central banker Jean-Claude Trichet. He has also been recognized as one of the top 40 under 40 professors in management worldwide by Poets & Quants.

内容简介：本讲座将围绕水经济学的前沿议题展开，主讲人将系统介绍其近年来在水务治理与经济规制方面的研究成果，重点包括：如何重新构建公共供水服务的商业模式，以及在确保效率、公平与可持续性的前提下优化水价机制。通过理论分析与实证案例相结合的方式，讲座旨在探讨公共水务在当前环境与经济双重挑战下的治理转型路径。

Lecture Content：This lecture will explore key issues in the economics of water, presenting the speaker’s recent research on the governance and economic regulation of water utilities. Particular focus will be given to efforts aimed at rethinking the business model for public water services and improving water pricing mechanisms, with an emphasis on balancing efficiency, equity, and sustainability. Combining theoretical insights with empirical cases, the lecture seeks to shed light on the evolving governance of public water utilities in the face of environmental and economic challenges.
